EACH OF THE PROGRAMS DEVELOPS AND SUSTAINS SYSTEMS FOR USE BY THE JOINT COMMUNITIES AND AS SUCH EACH HAS REQUIREMENTS TO INDEPENDENTLY VERIFY AND VALIDATE SOFTWARE ASSOCIATED WITH THESE SYSTEMS. THE OPERATIONAL SYSTEMS WERE DEVELOPED INDEPENDENTLY OF EACH OTHER AND, AS A RESULT, SOME OF THE FOUNDATIONAL SERVICES THAT SUPPORT EACH SYSTEM ARE DUPLICATIVE. THE C2 PORTFOLIO WILL EVOLVE OVER TIME TO HAVE COMMON MODERNIZED FOUNDATIONAL SERVICES ELIMINATING EXISTING DUPLICATIVE SERVICES. ADDITIONALLY, THE CORE MISSION APPLICATIONS THAT WILL INTERFACE WITH THE COMMON FOUNDATIONAL SERVICES WILL ALSO BE MODERNIZED RESULTING IN THE SUNSET OF SPECIFIC LEGACY COMPONENTS.
